- Making sure the entrance is being used by vehicles only
- Paying close attention to entrapment zones within the area and voiding them when the gate is being operated on/functioning
- Not attempting to “beat the gate” while the gate is closing
- Testing all the gates safety devices periodically to ensure proper functionality
- Making sure control stations for gates are located at least 6 feet from any moving part of the gate
- Never installing control devices where a person has to reach through the gate to activate it
- Never fully sealing the control box, as the gate’s battery needs some air flow to function properly.
