To make sure you do this garage maintenance step properly, lubricate every area of the door that has moving parts. This involves covering areas such as the garages track/wheels, as well as the moving joints that connect the garage door panels. Always be sure that when doing this step (or any other type of garage maintenance) that the power to the garage is turned off or not used, as this can quickly become a safety hazard.
Wash Your Garage Door
While one may assume that a garage door cleaning only works to make a door look nicer and shine brighter, a cleaning of this type actually increases the functionality of a garage door as well. The best way to clean your garage door is with a water mixture diluted with mild detergent and a towel/rag.
